Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, France
Jean-Yves Le Drian has been the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs since 2017. During the François Hollande Government, 2012-2017, he was Minister of Defence. Previously, from 1991 to 1992, he was Minister of State for Marine Affairs, attached to the Minister for Infrastructure, Housing, Transport and Space. In 1977 he was elected as Municipal Councillor in Lorient (Morbihan Department) and in 1998 as Brittany Regional Councillor. From 2004 to 2012, he was President of the Regional Council of Brittany.
