Manfred Weber is the transnational lead candidate of the European People’s Party (EPP) for the European Parliament Election 2019. He has led the EPP Group in the European Parliament since 2014, he is the youngest group-leader in the current Parliament as well the youngest-ever leader of the EPP Group. On the national level he is part of the Bavarian centre-right Christlich-Soziale Union (CSU) party, which he joined at the early age of 16. In addition to his professional and political activities, Mr Weber has been a member of the central committee of Catholics in Germany since November 2016 and is also a member of the regional committee of Catholics in Bavaria.
