Alexandre Stutzmann

Special Adviser to the President of the General Assembly, United Nations

Alexandre Stutzmann is Special Adviser to the President of the United Nations General Assembly. He was previously Team Leader for social, humanitarian and cultural issues in the Office of the President of the 74th session of the General Assembly, serving also as Special Advisor to the President. Prior to this he was Director for Parliamentary Committees in the field of External Policies in the European Parliament (2015-2019) and Head of Secretariat of the Foreign Affairs Committee (2014-2015). From 2007 to 2014 he served as Diplomatic Adviser to European Parliament Presidents Hans-Gert Pöttering, Jerzy Buzek and Martin Schulz. He first joined the European Parliament General Secretariat in 2001, first as spokesperson in DG Communication, then as Policy Adviser to the Foreign Affairs Committee. Stutzmann undertook postgraduate studies in Social and Political Sciences and Law at the EUI.
