Bernard Hoekman

Robert Schuman Chair and Dean of External Relations, EUI

Bernard Hoekman is Robert Schuman Chair, Dean of External Relations, and Professor and Director of Global Economics at the Robert Schuman Centre, where he coordinates a Horizon 2020 project on EU external policy and undertakes research on international trade and regulation. Prior positions include Director of the International Trade Department and Research Manager in the Development Research Group of the World Bank. A graduate of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, he obtained his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan. He is a CEPR Research Fellow, a Senior Associate of the Economic Research Forum for the Arab countries, Turkey and Iran, and has served on several World Economic Forum Global Action Councils.
