Director for Policy and Mediation Support, Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue
Katia Papagianni is Director for Policy and Mediation Support at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) in Geneva. She has worked on international peace and security for twenty years, specialising in mediation and peacemaking. She has supported peace processes all over the world with a focus on peace process design, national dialogue and constitution-making processes. She contributes regularly to discussions on conflict and peacemaking trends. She has published widely on peacebuilding, mediation and inclusive peace processes. Before joining HD, she worked for the National Democratic Institute, the OSCE, the Office of the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, and UNDP. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Columbia University. She has taught at Geneva’s Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies and at Columbia University.
