Martin Ruhs

Martin Ruhs is Chair in Migration Studies and Deputy Director of the Migration Policy Centre at the EUI. He is on leave from the University of Oxford. He is also Academic Co-Director of the international MEDAM project which informs European policy reform on asylum and migration. His research focuses on the economics and politics of international migration and key questions and dilemmas in public policy-making. Ruhs has provided policy analysis and advice for national governments and international institutions and co-edited the World Migration Report 2018. Previous roles include Director of Oxford University’s Migration Observatory (2009-12) and member of the UK’s Migration Advisory Committee (2007-14). He has written for New York Times, Financial Times, Guardian and Irish Times
