Chief Competition Economist, Directorate-General for Competition, European Commission
Pierre Regibeau is the Chief Economist at DG Competition. Born in Liege, Belgium, he received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the University of Essex before moving to Charles River associates in 2011. He has written widely on a number of topics including standardization, intellectual property, competition policy and trade policy and was editor of the Journal of Industrial Economics for more than ten years. He has also been a member of the Economic Advising Group on Competition Policy at the EU Commission.
