Professor of International Trade and Economic Development, University of St. Gallen and Founder, The St. Gallen Endowment for Prosperity Through Trade
Simon Evenett is Professor of International Trade and Economic Development at the University of St. Gallen, in Switzerland. He is founder of The St. Gallen Endowment for Prosperity Through Trade and Coordinator of Global Trade Alert. Dr. Evenett has been a (non-resident) Senior Fellow of the Economic Studies Programme at Brookings Institution and a Member of the UK Competition Commission. Recently, he was the DLA Piper Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Carey School of Business, Johns Hopkins University. Previously, he has taught at Oxford University, at University of Michigan, where he was a Visiting Professor of Corporate Strategy three times, at Rutgers University as well as serving twice as a World Bank official. He was also Director of Economic Research, at the World Trade Institute. He obtained his PhD in Economics from Yale University.
