Ombudsman, Citizen Rights of Poland
Adam Bodnar is the Ombudsman for Citizen Rights of Poland since 2015. He is a lawyer, specialised in constitutional law and human rights, a habilitated Doctor of Legal Sciences and a professor at SWPS University. Previously he was a member of the Board of Directors of the UN Fund for Victims of Torture (2014–2015). Earlier to this, he served as Vice-President of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights (2010–2015). He cooperated with numerous non-governmental organisations, including the Panoptykon Foundation (chairman of the Foundation Council), Client Earth Polska (member of the program council) and Stowarzyszenie im. prof. Zbigniew Hołda (co-founder and board member). He has published extensively, especially in the field of human rights.
