Director-General, European Parliamentary Research Service
Anthony Teasdale is Director-General of the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS), the European Parliament’s internal think-tank and research centre. He is also a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics (European University) and Columbia University (SIPA). He has been a political adviser and civil servant in London and Brussels. In London, he served as Special Adviser to Sir Geoffrey Howe during his time as UK Foreign Secretary, and to Kenneth Clarke as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Within the EP, he was head of policy strategy and legislative planning for the EPP Group, deputy chief of staff to the President of the Parliament (Jerzy Buzek), and Director for EU Internal Policies. Teasdale is a co-author of The Penguin Companion to European Union (2012).
