Duan Maosheng is Professor and Director of China Carbon Market Center of Tsinghua University. He is leading research on climate mitigation and energy policies, especially carbon pricing policies and international carbon market cooperation. His latest assignments include coordinating the drafting of rules for China’s national ETS. He has been a Member of an alternate of the Kyoto Protocol’s CDM Executive Board since 2010 and served as Chair of the board in 2012. He has been working on carbon markets since 2000 and has been a Member of the Chinese climate delegation since 2001, responsible for issues related to market-based mechanisms. Duan has been also intensively involved in the design and operation of China’s carbon market, including both the pilot and the national emissions trading systems.
