Secretary General, Trans European Policy Association (TEPSA)
Jim Cloos is presently the Secretary General of TEPSA (Trans European Policy Association). He is also a Senior Associate Fellow at the Royal Institute of EGMONT and a member of the board of the European Policy Centre (EPC). He retired from his post as Director General for General and Institutional Policy at the General Secretariat of the EU Council of Ministers (a post he held from April 2010 onwards) at the end of January 2021. From 2006 to 2010 he was in charge of the Directorate for General Policy Questions. Between 2001 and 2006, he was a Director for the Americas, the United nations and Human rights as well as Counter-terrorism and a close collaborator of High Representative Javier Solana.
