Dorothy Gordon is Chair of the Inter-governmental Council of UNESCO’s Information for All Programme and Board Member of UNESCO IITE. She is a technology activist with a focus on purpose-driven innovation and inclusive digital transformation. She is a Pan-Africanist and a feminist. Her extensive experience within the United Nations is complemented by work with Governments, private sector and with civil society organisations globally. She works to support greater engagement and action on policy, programme implementation and evaluation on the impact of technology on society. She is a strong advocate of the ROAM principles (internet universality) building on her work with the Open Movement and Creative Commons. She was the founding Director-General of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, a position which she held for over a decade.
