Professor of Fundamental Rights, Co-Director of Centre for Fundamental Rights, Hertie School
Cathryn Costello is Professor of Fundamental Rights and Co-Director of the Centre for Fundamental Rights at the Hertie School, Berlin. She is also Professor of International Refugee and Migration Law at the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford (on special leave) and Professor II at the University of Oslo. She has published widely on European and international refugee and migration law, including on refugee recognition, immigration detention, and the intersection of migration and labour law. She is currently the Principal Investigator of RefMig, a five-year ERC-funded research project exploring refugee mobility, recognition and rights, and is a co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of International Refugee Law (OUP, 2021 forthcoming).
