Abdelhak Bassou

Senior Fellow, Policy Center for the New South

Abdelhak Bassou is Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South (Morocco), specialising in Security Studies and Strategies and Defense. After a career in the Directorate General of National Security, he became the Director of the Royal Institute of Police. He later served as Chief of Regional Security before taking over as head of Central General Intelligence of Morocco. Bassou also contributed to the output of international organisations, including the Arab Interior Ministers’ Council, where he represented the Directorate General of National Security in several meetings. He is an expert in security studies and defence.
