Leaders and Experts from all over the world dealt with issues ranging from multilateral governance to sustainability and resilience, democracy and the rule of law, to the developments in attitudes to migration, the future of digitalisation, and how crisis can fuel change. Prominent speakers discussed how the Next Generation EU recovery plan can address the damage inflicted by the pandemic. Looking beyond Europe, the conference featured panels on the future of transatlantic relations.
The State of the Union conference included the Partner Events that were structured around various panels and contributed with alternative perspectives to the overarching #SOU2022 theme “A Europe Fit for the Next Generation?“.
As the concluding event of The State of the Union 2022, the Historical Archives of the European Union welcomed the public to visit the archives and Villa Salviati on Saturday, 7 May.
