Director General, European Parliamentary Research Service
Anthony Teasdale is Director General of the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS), the in-house research centre and think-tank of the European Parliament, and Visiting Professor of Practice at the European Institute of the London School of Economics (LSE). He has been a political adviser and civil servant both in London and Brussels. In Whitehall, he served as Special Adviser to Sir Geoffrey Howe during his time as UK Foreign Secretary, and to Kenneth Clarke as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Within the European Parliament, he was head of policy strategy and legislative planning for the EPP Group, deputy chief of staff to the President of the Parliament, and Director for EU Internal Policies, before taking up his current role in 2013. A former Research Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford University, Teasdale is a co-author of The Penguin Companion to European Union (2012).
