David Farrell is a Professor of Politics, head of Politics and International Relations at University College Dublin, and a member of the Royal Irish Academy. He was the research director of the Irish Constitutional Convention (2012-14) and the research leader of the Irish Citizens’ Assembly (2016-18). A former editor of Party Politics, he is a specialist in the study of parties, elections, electoral systems and parliamentary representation. His current research focuses on the role of deliberation in constitutional reform processes.
